Use the following guide to create a backup of a Secure Folder, select the backup location and/or specify the number of backups you want to keep. Each of your Secure Folders is backed up individually.
Make a Backup
- Open DataVault 7 and log-in
- On the Secure Folder overview screen, press the cog icon of the Secure Folder you want to backup
- Enter your folder's password to access the Secure Folder settings, then navigate to "Backup" item;
- Click “Backup now”;
- Wait until the Backup is finished;
Select a Backup Location
- Open DataVault 7 and log-in
- On the main screen, under the DataVault Menu, click on Settings;
- On the open dropdown menu, choose "Advanced"
- You will see the default location for the backup folders in the ENCDataVault70 folder; here you can change the location to a different location on your computer's local drive;
- Note: Secure Folders cannot be backed up to your Cloud folder; a secure folder located in your Cloud documents folder will be backed up to the location you choose on your local drive;
Select the number of Backups
- Open DataVault 7 and log-in
- On the main Secure Folders overview screen, press the cog icon of the Secure Folder you want to backup
- Enter your Folder's password to access the Secure Folder settings, then navigate to "Advanced"
- Make sure a checkmark is placed by "Enable automatic backup retention"
- Select the number of backups you want to keep;
